Title: re: Color shift in PhotoShop 8
Here’s how I see it, I receive a image from Joe’s Photo that is RGB imbedded with say Adobe RGB. I open the image and use the imbedded profile to view the image. So now I assume that what I see is what Joe intended to look like, that’s why he imbedded the profile ( I hope). Now I convert to My press or Billy Bob’s press profile and look at the image. Hey if it looks like the RGB, Done.
If the image is CMYK to start with and has an imbedded profile, I assign My profile because that’s how this image will look coming out the back of My press. If it’s yellow and I don’t like it yellow then I’ll take out some yellow. But what if the client liked the yellow, well we all have been there. Mostly I use converting to My profile to adjust the total ink limit so all images have the same limit, makes for happier pressmen.
