Hi Andrew,

Agreed, as I noted in my earlier posting, it'll be a tiny minority of
Photoshop users that use the ColorSync Workflow option, and for those that
did, transitioning their setup to something else in Color Settings will
probably be simple enough. In fact, I was only really responding to John
Gnaegy's point that "no" applications use the settings, since in fact a
couple do, including an app that Nikon digital SLR shooters use.
But, beyond some short-term pain dealing with Nikon Capture 4.2.1's
dependency on these settings, I'm happy to see the default space prefs
disappear from the OS, since they were little used for sure and, as John
noted, only served to confuse people into thinking that they did something,
when in fact in most workflows they did nothing at all.

Agreed. I've always preferred the way Capture for Windows does this, where
the RGB and CMYK colour spaces are explicitly chosen in the program's colour
management prefs. Capture for Mac will presumably have to be revved to
operate the same way, and that will make more sense for sure.
