Roberto,
Media thickness and smoothness of the media are other important key issues.
I have seen ECI targets printed on a press for the DTP70 and the sheets
were coated. Because of the coating, the sheet was too smooth for the DTP70
to grab consistently. So an alternate measurement method had to be used such
as the ICColor or the Spectroscan. In the case of using the ICColor new
targets had to be printed on the press again. Ouch!
And if you have ever seen Gretag demo the IO, they always use a very thin
media (like a plastic bag) or a thick media to make their point.
If you measure a lot of different media you might want to consider having
both the DTP70 and the IO.
Also, using ColorPort helps to normalize the measurement file formats so
you can use the data in PM or Profiler.
