profiling screen proofing?
profiling screen proofing?

Is there anything inherently tricky or different with profiling a
screen proofing setup? I have a client who uses the halftone option
in ColorBurst Pro (v7.5) in order to produce a "coarser" proof to
correspond to their CD label screen printing process. At first this
seemed like an easy enough thing to do...I just needed to create a
new profile based on this new condition. However, invoking the
halftone option does some pretty strange things. Ink application is a
lot different, requiring some total limiting in the RIP to avoid wet
patches on the target. This does not happen in the default
environment with ICC shut off (with the same channel limits in
place). But as soon as you turn on halftones and specify a ruling
everything goes to hell.
Anybody have any ideas as to what might be going on?
