Sorry this doesn't answer your question directly, but it sounds to me like
the amount of work you're doing to compensate for 2.0's inadequacies is
costing you a whole lot more than Adobe's upgrade price. I know many shops
refuse to upgrade anything ever, but you say you're running 10.4, so I have
to wonder why you're torturing yourself like that.
