Hello all,
time for me to jump in!
I completely DON'T agree with the naming proposals.
I agree that there have been 'mistakes' in the past, but
ISOcoated is a well agreed standard here in europe.
Maybe a lot of people here in the list are professional
prepress/press guys and girls, and I understand your need
for profiles with different TAC, black generation etc, and
of course naming conventions are essential for such work.
BUT most people working in the graphics community
don't even know how to spell colormanagement. Sad but
true, and Klaus already mentioned it.
It's been hard enough to tell them that ISOcoated is not
Euroscale nor Europe ISO Coated FOGRA27. So don't
make them more confused. ISOcoated v2 is sufficient.
They will understand that it's simply something better,
something newer.
If you need to know the specs, read the manual. If you
have to communicate the specs, write a manual.
