An edited reference profile? Maybe this was the way some years ago, but
today. Definitively not the right way.
agreed. this comes very close to "closed loop color" conceptually, in
my opinion.
of course, i've come back to a similar dilemma myself with many of my
simulations: there's the "correct" way to do it, and then there's what
needs to be done to make it look right.
in this case, apparently they needed 13 rounds of edits to the
reference profile to make the rest of the process as simple as the
plug and play process they describe in their how-to. i have no idea
where their reference data came from, either. i would imagine they
made very small edits- as is usually the case when editing profiles-
but the data set is quite different than TR001.
The engine in the latest v5 is pretty much the same as in XF, I was
told, so you should be able to use the same resources.
makes sense- but i can't find the reference profile mentioned in the
ADS anywhere: Best_SWOP_Ref_Presssheet_2003.icc. is it part of the XF
install? if so, could you send me a copy? i'd really like to compare
it to the other SWOP variants i have.
it'd be nice if it came a little closer to the TR001 data, but really-
it'd be even nicer if they'd just *use* the TR001 dataset, wouldn't
it? i wonder why they don't....
