I hoped Photoshops XMP implementation would be clever enough to record such informations automatically, but it is not (at least not yet "out of the box").

Nobody in a print production environment has time to read that. I'd settle for Bridge telling me the color space and profile (or untagged status) for all files INCLUDING EPS AND JPEG!!!

It'd also be really cool if I could set batch parameters that would include different actions based on color space. For example, maybe a different rendering intent for RGB and CMYK and/or different assumed profiles for RGB and CMYK.
