Difficult process indeed. Most folks don't have the time to learn anything
anymore, or the patience.

Lucky you.
I write for design and prepress magazine on CMS and color.
One of my articles covered the CIE-Lab and LCH
correction systems.
Recently, a digital photographer informed me that he uses
Nikon Capture software and likes the goodies of their
LCH corrections.
He gained experience in an earlier stage with the Nikon
scanners and their software.
That handles, as he wrote, LCH editing too.
Canon uses LCH and Scansoft produces several scanner
and image correcting software modules with LCH facilities.
The subject of correcting delicate skin tones in LCH
are discussed on: http://www.lonestardigital.com/D2H_skin_tones.htm
Regards, Henk
