I know the manual limits the DTP70 to 0.14" media thickness, yet is that conservative or the actual maximum ? I'd like to profile Hahnemuhle Rag 308gr, 0.48mm (about .019"), has anyone tried/ succeeded ?

I'm late to the game in responding on this one, but can say that I've read literally hundreds of 8.5x11 sheets of Photo Rag 308gr through our 2005 DTP70.

They key as mentioned previously it to help get things started with a bit of pressure during the initial feeding.
