That is indeed the exact question. Particularly if the paper in question is one that the OEM has already profiled. Sometimes though, we and clients like to print on papers that are not on the OEM path. To do such, IMO, is an exercise in futility if one cannot control the channel reduction and ink limits.

It controlled sufficiently for most users in the linearization/calibration process. For real geeks who aren't happy unless they are under the hood, more is certainly possible with a RIP. Whether more is better is the question...
