The GE is not a spot varnish but is blended with the other 11 inks. So when

using in Econo Mode on Gloss or Semi-Gloss it tends to look not much

different than the media.

Just to clarify to others who haven't used it, the GE is a separate "ink" with it's own cartridge and it is sprayed on the paper after the other inks. It's not incorporated into the other inks like Epson has done with the K3 inks.  I didn't call it a varnish - I had earlier stated that it *simulated* a spot varnish which might be of interest to those in prepress. On Econo or Whole Page mode the gloss differential is notable in comparison to the paper, especially when using a proofing papers like EFI 9200, Midstates Press White, GMG, etc.
