Only HP have a dedicated head for the Matte Black. Epson and Canon use intelligent switching, but not as good as a dedicated head and tubing.

FYI, the new Canon printers like the imagePROGRAF ipf5000 and ipf9000 and smaller printers like PIXMA Pro 9500 actually do have dedicated nozzles for both inks. I use the word "nozzles" because each Canon large format "head" contains dedicated nozzles for 6 inks. Epson has dedicated MK and PK nozzles in the 3800 and 4000 and will have them in their updated printers later this year.
