Rich/Benedikt
The problem with this 9500 was solved by a repairman. He said a spring had become too loose causing the paper to shift on the left side. In rereading my original post, I failed to mention that the print was the proper size on 3 sides. Just the left side was short. Sorry for not being as specific as I should have been. I have been running fine art on two hp5000uv for 6 years for an art publisher and have never had a size problem. Never had a service call after the initial support you get when you purchase. They may explode tomorrow after writing this, but they have been good machines.
Thanks for responses.

Anyone know how to save off the color patch ref. data from a Monaco
Profiler session?

TIA

Could someone who's familiar with this option explain how it really
works?
HP's website couldn't be more concise about...
Thanks in advance for any help!!

Steve,

I just ran into a problem on an Epson 9600 using canvas and the
ImagePrint RIP. My 42" length images are 3/8 inch too short. A half-
dozen e-mails to ColorByte did not result in a satisfactory solution
(no solution at all, actually), and now I've been told by ColorByte
that I need to purchase a service agreement if I want anymore
answers from them (or software updates), e-mail support has been
terminated.

Sure, I can develop a "scaling factor" to use on the original images,
but that's far from ideal. I like the solution that EFI has to this
for their RIP, as described by Klaus. For a number of reasons, it's
time to look into a new RIP.

Rich,

Can't the gray target densities be determined a-priori in your
opinion?

Sorry, Roger my Latin is a little...non-existant. What are you asking?

Thats what I did in the last 10 years of LFP on nearly every machine (Nur Blueboard, Vutek UltraVu, Vutek Fabrivu, Nur Fresco, Mimaki, Encad Novajet except e.g. the HP Designjet 5500 PS which has a built- in-correction). Use your developed scaling factor to distort the files in your RIP and be happy. Even on a Vutek Fabrivu it is nearly impossible to get the right scaling on Knit-Canvas after hotfixing the colors. Why should it be far from real? Do you prefer emailing and calling hotlines again and again, wasting hours of time instead?
