Googling indeed gives lots of results. Which method is used in Argyll?
Both, depending on the transform characteristic (at least in icclib),
but simplex is used most of the time, for its speed (only
dim. + 1 nodes need to be read), and accuracy in diagonally dominant
transforms (typical of device->whatever), as well as it's invertibility
(it's mathematically linear, whereas multi-linear in > 2D is not).
Are you aware of any document that contains a MSE comparison of the
different interpolation methods, for different CLUT sizes?
I'm not following you. The interpolation method only has an influence
on accuracy within each grid cell, so the CLUT size is irrelevant
to the choice of method.
As you see I'm trying to dig a bit deeper than plain usage of CMSs, as
with every thing new, it turn out to be a bit complex...
The principles are relatively straightforward, the details need some
looking after.
Graeme Gill.
