When you say "Ask the printer to supply a profile from their proofing
device", hope you were think about the "Simulation profile" of the
proofing device!

What this mean "being calibrated to GATF standard" for a flexo printer?
Is it because they already printed the GATF test form and calculated
the dot gain from it?

Flexo printing, by nature is a wild animal to control. Ask the
printer to supply a profile from their proofing device. Convert to
that device. It they can't match it, then that's their problem.
