My dtp41UV has been generating a substantial amount of strip read errors lately and just last night it refused to read the calibration strip. Restarts, saving sessions, etc seem to do no good. Is it possible the drive motor may have gone south, or is there a belt that might be slipping inside? Is there anything that can be done by the layman to crank out a few quick profiles for some samples on a new media?

It could be that the lamp is getting dim. If the strip feeds without any apparent issues, and the optics isn't dirty, then it could be the lamp. I'd imagine that it would have to be returned to X-Rite to fix this type of problem.
