I'm testing a Barbieri LFP (stands for Large Format Printing) with an
arm-mounted head (z movement) and x-y moving sample, which can
apparently do it all - adjustable aperture, reflective and
transmissive measurements, optional UV filter, ability to work with
*very* thick substrates. The LFP is clearly more fussy to use and
slower than the iSIS but it is also much more flexible. Andrew has
done a "User Statement" for Barbieri
(http://www.barbieri-electronic.com/n_rodney.htm). I've been testing
the unit with Mac and Linux software that has come out since Andrew
wrote his description, and have generated good RGB profiles. My own
initial impressions of this device are positive.
