Color management settings are supposed to work identically in

Can someone explain why an image printed from InDesign doesn't
match the image printed from Photoshop?
By default, CMYK is not converted at print time in InDesign.
In the print dialog, in the Color Management section. Options>Output
Color>Preserve CMYK Numbers is checked by default. This needs to be
unchecked in order for CMYK content to be color managed, in this
instance to a color laser printer. You could also get a similar
effect by checking "Proof" radio button in this same section of the
print dialog.
At least what is delivered to the print system as Postscript appears
to contain the same values from both Photoshop CS2 and InDesign CS2,
plus or minus 2 levels. So I wonder if there is some incompatibility
with the PPD and InDesign CS2 that's causing an otherwise
undocumented conversion to occur in-printer.
