Agreed. If the RIP either won't be able to handle embedded profiles properly
and/or "chokes" on them, it would require just a minimum of savvy on the
operator's part to effect a preliminary conversion of the files to the
proper color space for output, save them untagged and then send them to the
RIP in that state. It's definitely *not* rocket science. It's very sad that
seasoned prepress professionals will refuse to learn those ropes.

Like I said earlier, this is the kind of stuff that makes smoke come out of
my ears. It's high time to call this game of avoidance for what it is: a CYA
tactic with no good justification from the point of view of the clients'
best interests.
