RGB Printing From Indesign CS3

I just upgraded to Indesign CS3. I'm on an Intel Mac and am trying to
print to a desktop RGB printer (Epson R2400). I have successfully
printed to this device with many papers and excellent color managed
results from PS3, and Indesign 2.0. Now I have the dreaded dark
issue. For RGB printing, I understand I may have to make new profiles
from targets placed in IDCS3 with no color management. Is this the
only workable solution? I have looked at the threads on this topic
and wonder if there is some new solution I'm not aware of. Pretty
darn crazy of Adobe to not fix this.
Can anyone recommend RIP software that circumvents this issue, is
affordable and upgradable when I switch to a pro level Epson or Canon
or HP?
