Jeff,

I spent some time with a client profiling their HP photo printer and I
proved that you can create good RGB profiles that work in Photoshop,
however, when you go to ID, using the same profile or by creating a new
profile, I could not get ID to work as Photoshop did. And I followed exactly
what Adobe suggested and a number of other possibilities.

This was a very frustrating problem.

Adobe's solution to fix this is to get a RIP. ID sure seems broken.

In my clients case, it was more cost effective to get a new printer with a
limited edition (Epson RIP) of the Colorburst RIP that ships with the
printer. This solved the color matching problem when using an RGB workflow.
