That requires a spectrophotometer, something that Joe User is not likely to want to buy. Not even a ColorMunki. Give this type of user a task that is even a bit more complicated than clicking a couple of "OK" buttons, and steam starts coming out of their ears -- and they start blaming everyone *else* for the inevitably poor results.

Then why should they care to know? Or why should they be involved in work that they are not qualified for?

There's only one printer type that has a spectrophotometer embedded in it. So, if Joe User has an Epson, what's he going to do? You're asking him to spend *yet more money* to buy either the HP inkjet or a spectrophotometer, both of which prospects Joe will confront with a contemptuous sneer and a dismissive wave of the hand.
