I think either XYZ or density based TVI will be valid for what you're
doing, so long as you stick to one metric. If you have access to the
measurement data that created the profile, you might have some insight
as to the process's repeatability there...assuming more than one
measurement sample was taken. Take some measurements of the press sheets
throughout the calibration run and compare them to see how stable the
press was. This will likely be more telling than the TVI from the
profile itself.
