Edmund,
We only have ourselves to fall back on. It's through exchanges like these
that our collective knowledge advances. We say things, we reply, others
contribute. We do some readings of our own, run some experiments, talk to
some people we know and come back with some new information, and the cycle
continue. I think it is very healthy -- I, for one, feel if my own
technical and practical knowledge *does* ceases to expand that it will
quickly becomes obsolete, because of the pace at which technology expands.
