I'm not so sure...
The TIFF preset does on all my Macs after the first install of
Lightroom. The default is Adobe RGB 1998. This is a simple fact you
should easily be able to reproduce on a vanilla Mac Leopard 10.5.4
installation with Lightroom 2.0.
More bad science on your part.
There's no such preset in Export from a clean install. Do you see the
export presets hardwired as I described in the upper left of the
Export dialog called Lightroom Presets? Which do you see that has
Adobe RGB as and encoding color space option? There's only three
provided. Two have sRGB, one has no option (because its exporting a
DNG).
Go into Preferences, Presets, turn OFF Store Presets with catalog, go
back into Export. What do you see? Depending on where you've asked for
USER presets to be stored, they may or may not show up in Export but
the bottom line is, those are USER presets. There isn't a hard wired
export in Lightroom that has Adobe RGB! But you probably are
containing to be confused between Export and Open in External Editor,
but had you even read the text there, you'd have seen that ProPhoto
RGB in 16-bit is recommended (for the third time).
