Hi Edmund:
Agre, and not agree.
Here, at Canary Islands is impossible to get professional film or E-6,
And after been shoting 4X5" sildes with SINAR is imposible to go back.
I come from Adobe Photoshop 2.0 with LC 4/40. Years later, with better
machines and Agfa Arcus II learn to do ETTR, that is something very
actual in digital photography.
It´s hard to teach to pupils that don´t know film photography, with
other example than human vision, the linearity of sensors in DSLR
because they aren´t experienced, And is important a pair if trained
eyes.
And the only example to understand how film layer works is, for me,
Foveon sensors.
My explain to reds and yellows is that the filters in the Bayer
sensors are not ordered the same than film and Foveon and each one of
then receive the same amount of infrared radiation: first blue, then
green, and finally red, which is the most penetrating wavelength.
The true: we are in a continuos learning to teach better and get the
best or our tool, and disordered quuestions are and advise of
knowledgement hungry.
This is a good place to satifice this hunger.
Salud
Jose Bueno
