Craig, just as a side note to the info already presented...can you clarify
which black ink you were using - PK or MK...the resulting gamut maps for
each ink type on a given media will be considerably different. The two
papers you mentioned - Epson Enhanced Matte and Somerset Velvet will have
different results..With MK..the blacks will "spike" to a darker black
faster..with PK you will usually see a "wider", "rounder" range in the
darker L values ..but not achieve the same density as MK. A better test for
a full gamut range would be to compare a wider gamut media, like PLPP
260gsm. I would also look into a third party gamut viewing app - such as
Monaco Gamut Works- to view the resulting gamut plots.
