Adobe's profiles are generally pretty good. I suspect the artefacts
could
be worse with profiles from many other sources.
No one’s arguing that a profile and a device link are two different
things and can and do produce differing results! Or that two profiles
from different makes can produce differing results. The point Martin
makes is using apples to apples (something he’s clearly not doing
based on this convoluted communications) was that Photoshop was
inferior in making a conversion, and as usual, with his political Fox
news like reporting, didn’t initially indicate he’s using two totally
different process to knock one of the conversions.
Its kind of like saying that Photoshop‘s text tool sucks and then
later indicating under your breath it sucks compared to MS Word’s text
tool.
Again, if you look at the text exchange I laid out, Martin’s quite
vague in an attempt to knock Photoshop’s conversions, only later
indicating his so called tests used totally different processes (one
process unavailable until CS4!).
