Don't try and evaluate the composite image by eye -- take a look at
the individual RGB channels.
You'll see that Photoshop has clipped a massive amount of information
-- large areas of solids instead of the clearly differentiated
rectangles that were in the original image.
A device link conversion will do a better job.
