Of course as soon as I sent my last reply, the Yahoo EpsonWideFormat
group became available...'-}}
1. With respect to 10.6.3 and odd looking monitor display:
See:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/EpsonWideFormat/message/95153
"I have seen many reports about 10.6.3 resetting monitor profiles to
"standard"."
and see:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/EpsonWideFormat/message/95156
"I downloaded 10.6.3 last night. Go to Displays in System Preferences,
and uncheck "Show profiles for this display only," and then find your
profile. In my case I found my Eye-One profile that I created last week
and all is well again."
and see:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/EpsonWideFormat/message/95157
"Just put it on another Mac here, same issue, drops the profile. And
after changing it back in sys prefs it sticks, that is a good thing."
2. As to 10.6.3 and printing, see:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/EpsonWideFormat/message/95174
The testing was done on an Epson 7900:
"Conclusion: No Color Management with CS3 on 10.5.8 and CS4 on 10.6.3
are OK. CS3 on 10.6.3 and CS4 on 10.5.8 both produce incorrect results."
and:
"Conclusion: Photoshop Manages Colors with CS3 on 10.6.3 produces
incorrect results.
So ... don't print targets with CS4 on 10.5.8 (we knew this before) and
don't use CS3 at all on 10.6.3. Whether the above applies to your
printer/driver will
have to be determined."
Hope that proves useful...
