Trying so hard to figure out how this can be set to work on this high end
impossible to find info on monitor.
I just tried to do a calibration from Windows XP, the monitor is not
recognised as an HP DW monitor. All the latest 1.10 etc, software drivers
installed.
Hooked up the USB cable from the monitor to the USB port. Only other USB
device on another port, the X-Rite HP i1D2.
There was an independent calibration application with the release on this
monitor. IT only worked on PC, not on Mac. It was the only calibration that
could be used with the monitor or acceptance of the factory calibration.
According to the screen info, the last calibration was done 245 hours ago,
so I presume that means from the Mac, when I was playing with the HP APS DW
calibrations, all of which gave horrible results.
When looking at the show clipping with the monitor display profiles, none
fully cover Fogra 39 without clipping.
Now I know this monitor is capable of a lot more than that so it is software
that is so far behind in updates and information it makes this a joke for
professionals. It's like a prototype device where you're on your own.
Testing prototypes for HP for is amusing, I have done that for too long.
Typically HP, great engineering , poor implementation of support.
What happened to the calibrations, where should they be, why are the
calibrations coming out wrong, why is the gamut limited even though the rgb
channels are set to full, etc etc etc. ?
Try to find DW APS updates on the HP site> if you type in HP LP2480zx in the
drivers and support there are only Windows op sys listed. No Mac, nothing on
HP Dreamcolor APS.
