Edmund:
Since ColorCheckers are not standards and manufactures are not forced
to show color gamut tests, it is not extrange that a well captured SG
allows to measure the gamut limit of an input device and find
undesirable dE.
The workflow that I want to work with as a documented procedure
include DNG Converter, DNG Profile Editor(s), Adobe Photoshop, among
others that include a licensed RPP which shares Argyll CMS with
roughProfiler, CoCa, GaMapICC, dispCalGUI (that is my prefered display
profiling software), SpectraShop. Jose Pereira's RoughDeveloper is a
dcraw GUI too.
For your information studio image capture is made at institution only
under two illuminants: A and D50 flash units. Parameters are fixed to
lower ISO "film" speed (some say is better nominal ISO that in D90 is
200), aperture to better lens specific SFR and the fraction of second
that align histogram with medium gray reference and slight twek after
neutral balance. And tripod. And flash meter to ensure that the
artifact (area) to reproduce in evenly iluminated.
Do you see something wrong in this step?
