Even though I own CS6, I honestly can't think of any compelling reason why
I upgraded
Mostly agree.
* I used the CS6 trial,
* was underwhelmed
* other than PV2012,
* and decided to buy LR4
* which also has PV2012
* and skipped CS6, waiting for CS7.
* Sigh.
The "teaser rate" for CC/PS is $10-USD for the first 12 months. Acceptable,
but after 12 months? $20 would be unacceptable.
My impression is that the ability to reduce camera shake * may * be a
compelling upgrade feature, but I mostly use a tripod. My understanding is
that the demo last year was faked.
I can understand that the complex algorithms may bring a powerful desktop to
its knees, and the cloud might be advantageous. Especially if I had a smart
phone with decent camera.
For a non-pro, LR5 and/or PSE might be an affordable alternative. Sigh.
I also can appreciate that IP theft is a significant issue, not just a
rationalization.
I may see if one of the camera clubs I belong to might go in on a joint CC
subscription, but I don't know how that would work. Legal? Ethical?
