Dear Mr. Cheydleur,
please forgive my technical ignorance but is there anything fundamentally wrong or flawed in the following approach :
> When using the Konica Minolta Virtual Fluorescence Standard the UV element of a sample is activated by two
> light sources with vastly different UV energy consecutively (within milliseconds and not visible to the user).
> Should the sample show fluorescence, the resulting radiance factors (the “measurement result”) will differ.
> By this method it is easy to distinguish fluorescence from reflectance. By incorporating the UV-content of the final
> viewing environment it is possible to calculate the correct total radiance factor.
I don't mean to promote one "technology" over another but isn't that what we're after, the "total radiance factor"?

Hello Ray,
I've got to say that the eXact specification sheet:
<http://www.xrite.com/documents/literature/en/L7-526_eXact_Comparison_en.pdf>
doesn't make that clear. In fact it seems to imply that the eXact operates the same as the i1pro2 in measuring M1.
Optics: Gas filled tungsten (illuminant type A) and UV LED.
Measurement parameters doesn't list M1 as single pass, implying two passes - A then UV.
Can you clarify how the eXact achieves M1 measurement conditions ?
Thanks,
Graeme Gill.
