Haven’t got a Canon printer here to test against, but if I open the chart in ColorSync Utility and use the menu at the bottom left of the window to assign the same generic Epson paper profile that I’d print to, I get the same, null transform, result as you get if you print as a “color chart”.
The PDFs in the spool queue are identical.
The spool queue does contain a matching print settings data file however, so you might also need to look at this to see if bad settings are being delivered to the printer.
