Fair enough. The long compile times I can just about deal with (switch over
to another machine on my KVM and do other work), but any improvement there
would be welcome.

OK, I'll give that a go, it's cheap enough in any case.

Older? OLDER? Bought the darn thing brand-new back in January, most money
I've ever paid for a computer! Tho' I do realise the newest model is nearly
twice as quick (who said Moore's Law was dead)... I tried your screen tip,
and that has made some improvement tho' it could do with some more. I'll
order the RAM now and if it still isn't fast enough I'll have to hit the
January sales.. :/

My bigger gripe right now is its not detecting that a 3rd-party library I
was trying to link with was corrupt, and its wasting me the best part of
two working days as a result :( - admittedly, though, I'm still on really
very small projects with this stuff, I wouldn't like to build something
even medium-sized with PB just yet.
fwiw, I do have CodeWarrior as well, and have been using that for some
stuff, but so far I'm finding PB to be easier to set up for AudioUnits.

Angus.
