I would not recommend such a restrictive stance. If there is time and ability
to create a Cocoa view, then why not do it? Even if there is nothing the user
can detect, Cocoa views should be easier to develop, so that is a hidden
feature above and beyond what is possible with a Carbon view.
For now, a Carbon view is required (unless you're happy with the generic
view), but I see no reason to recommend against a Cocoa view so long as it is
given priority below the Carbon view.
Besides, we can't get beyond this chicken and egg problem until some AU
developers create Cocoa views on faith that they'll be adopted.
