CoreMIDI drivers do not reside in the kernel, they are user space
plugins for CoreMIDI server.
Sadly none of CoreAudio is open-sourced :(
(although I'd love to be proved wrong)

Our firmware guy is implementing the code for a new device which needs

sending a

spelunking with a bus analyzer and the only known-good class-oriented
controller available to him hasn't helped because he's trying to use a
portion of the class spec which the controller doesn't use. I took a
look at
Darwin to see if the driver had been open-sourced, but it looks like
it has
not (though maybe I didn't look in the right place). If the driver is
published, where should I look? If it is not published, does anybody
have
any ideas about how to debug such a thing short of asking DTS to help?
