Bill,
The ExtendedAudioFile API sounds just right for my needs, I love it
when you
guys are handling all the number crunching. I noticed the header
file did
not come down with the QT7 update for Panther. Does this indicate
that it is
only available for Tiger?
Yes - this API is only available in Tiger
If I want to play a headerless sound file (where the user is
prompted for
the data format) should I plan to write a new Audio File Component
(AFC),
You'll need to write an AFC - there's an example AFC in the SDK (it
takes *any* file on your disk and plays it back as a 16bit stereo
data - from memory I think the carbon lib had some interesting bits :-)
or
can I use the ExtAudioFileWrapAudioFileID by preparing the AudioFileID
manually?
I don't think so - because its just going to go read data and expect
things to be a certain way based on the file type you are providing...
