I think this situation is not fixable at the moment. It's not defined
if an AudioUnit's Carbon GUI represenation should work with a
composited window or not.
In my mind a proper AU Carbon GUI should work fine in both types of
window, and as AU Lab supports testing with both types of windows
now (in general prefs under expert settings) I think that it's really
up to
the plug-in developers to finally fix this in their AUs.
That being said, unfortunately there's a few AUs out there that aren't
maintained any longer for some reason or the other, which is why Logic
for example currently still sticks to non-compositing windows - we don't
want to break what used to work, and unfortunately we had started
without compositing back in Logic 5...
I hope that this situation will be fixed with i386, so that hosts
compiled
for i386 will always use a composited window for the plugins
I really like this suggestion - the transition to i386 is a great
chance to
change to compositing windows for AU views because non-maintained
AUs will not work on Intel anyways.
I will look into maybe doing this for Logic, but I'd be glad to hear
some
more opinions from this list about this topic.
Best,
Stefan
