I really like this suggestion - the transition to i386 is a great
chance to
change to compositing windows for AU views because non-maintained
AUs will not work on Intel anyways.
I will look into maybe doing this for Logic, but I'd be glad to hear some
more opinions from this list about this topic.

Sounds good to me -- IF it is well documented and a generally recommended behavior for i386 hosts. Currently the word 'compositing' is not even mentioned in the AU view documentation as far as I'm aware...
