kAudioFormatProperty_FormatName alternative

Hello. I have a rather silly question. Are there any alternatives to kAudioFormatProperty_FormatName? I just want the format name, not a description as the documentation says can be returned.

I noticed that there is kAudioCodecPropertyFormatCFString, but there doesn't seem to be a way to access this information easily. Thanks.
