Are there a lot of modern keyboard controllers or synth workstations which SEND release velocity and/or poly pressure? I just include poly pressure because the few ancient keyboards which I knew about, which could send one of these, could also send the other.

Release pressure: yes; many keyboard controllers will. Poly pressure: I am not aware of any. I used to have an Ensoniq EPS (which someone else previously mentioned), which did, which was great, but I'm not aware of any current synths or controllers that do.

I believe the Roland Fantoms, Yamaha Motifs, and Korg Tritons all send and response to release velocity. The Kurzweils do also. I'm relatively certain that the M-Audio and Evolution keyboard controllers (KeyStation, etc.) do not send release velocity, but I'm not totally positive of that.

We should probably take further discussion of this off the CoreAudio- API mailing list though. :)
