tx alot for your reply bill
i checked aulab as you told,
i suppose you wanted me to check some app that listed virtual ports
correctly ?
i am used to them, ableton live and most others are able to use my
midi ports without a hitch
just not those ones that expect a device to be present in ams
so it is really not a problem in my setup...
i dont know if i am happy or not,
it will sure be hard to convince motu that digital performer needs to
be fixed so my apps work with it
i was questioning if i needed to create any kind of driver to emulate
a real device being conected
woul this work ?
once again
tx alot for the support

This is a problem with some applications not searching for virtual
sources (or destinations).
Please let those applications know about the problem.
If you want to use an app that does this, AULab provides a way..
Create an instrument and have a look at the MIDI tab (and MIDI
devices management pane) if you want to have something you can test
against

hello
i am the developer of itouchmidi, a suite of iphone apps dedicated
to midi control
www.itouchmidi.com
i am currently using core midi to create midi virtual ports and
handle communications
it is working very well except in audio applications that require
"device" to show up in audio midi setup
example of this is digital performer controller surface setup
it does not list midi virtual ports
tx alot for the attention and support
abraços
