Looks like that's the answer, then. Rather than a 4-in 2-out, it's
really dual stereo in and single stereo out. I'd say side-chain
input is most appropriate for morphing or vocoding in Logic, so if
the OP's plugin fits that class then the solution should be
straightforward.

Not an odd creation at all. This would be a typical and popular

This plug in morphs sounds to create hybrids and it works great in
Logic, apparently they use 2 channels + 2 channels from the side chain
for the 2xstereo-in > stereo-out case.
A stereo vocoder would be another use case.

I still do not remember your description of the purpose of your 4-
to-2
plugin. Without an idea of your purpose for such an odd creation,
it's
really difficult comment on whether there is a better way to
handle it in
Logic. Also, you have to consider that perhaps the purpose of
your plugin
does not fall within the universe of things that Logic intends to
support,
and thus it really doesn't matter how popular and significant
Logic is, if
you don't fit within its goals.
For example, I don't understand why you can't have 4 mono channels
mixed to
a stereo bus, or where you expect to get 4-channel signals as
inputs in
Logic. It could be that Logic excludes all plugins which do the
same thing
as yours.
