AudioMulch, Bidule and Studio One support the AU MIDI Callbacks.
I also recommend filing this with the bugreporter --there were a few prior
posts along this line a few weeks back. The more it is reported, the more
likely they will fix it. An equally effective option is to use the Logic/Mainstage
feedback links:

The workaround is to create virtual ports or use IAC busses, but then
you have to deal with latency...
