seems that 64 bit is the default and there's a new -32 argument.
No documentation about it. I just tried -32 and auval took it without nagging.

You can probably assume that there is only 64 bit mode in Mavericks, no?

    Hi,

probably a stupid question: how can I start auval from the terminal
in x64 mode under Mavericks? Found an online documentation for
Mountain Lion that talked about the argument -64 but auval doesn't
    accept it.

    Thanks,

    Thomas
