If there's a way to make this work, some hacker out there will hack
together a patch for it, but if Apple did it, corporate/government

To clarify I assumed the above statement referred to dual booting OS
X and Windows an Intel Mac, that was done several weeks ago without
Apple's help, but you risked damaging the EFI if you didn't do it
just right.
Dual booting OS X and Linux should already be possible on the Intel
Macs, it certainly is possible for the PowerPC Macs. Not something I
need so I have not done it personally.
The primary benefit of dual-booting Windows and OS X is not for most
of those reading this list, in most cases VPC is better choice for
"us." Think about who wants this and you will understand. This is
no different then I went to a Mac Users Group shortly after the first
iMac, the group is mostly technical people and long time Mac users,
virtually no one in that group thought the iMac had any appeal and
would never buy one--the colorful iMac was not for the "us" at that
meeting. No different than a store I knew run by two sisters, if the
second sister said an item was ugly and would never sell the first
sister knew it would sell very well indeed. Most people on this list
are not "average" and most technical Mac users are not "average."
