Is anyone running Linux on their MacTel machines currently?
If Boot Camp will help or not in this regard is unclear:
apparently it includes a firmware update, which presumably is
updating EFI with legacy BIOS support. That may be enough to get a
standard Linux ISO to boot, although you'd have to do without some
of the drivers that enable Windows functionality, as those in the
Boot Camp install are Windows only.
Booting Linux on an EFI based machine should not be that hard, the
SGI Altix's are EFI based and they boot a modified Red Hat and a
modified SUSE (modified in that additional SGI libraries are added).
No doubt it requires a person of some skill, just installing Debian
Linux on an Opteron-based machine took me a bit of work to get right.
